Hi, I'm Junior | BCCSDip.AdvCanBhv
Founder of PawsOfWisdom – Supporting Owners of Reactive & Anxious Dogs
Welcome to PawsOfWisdom, a space dedicated to helping owners like you transform life with reactive and anxious dogs. My name is Junior, and alongside my dog Jasper, we’ve been on this journey together for over seven years. Through our challenges, I discovered my passion for understanding behaviour, reducing stress, and helping dogs thrive.
This blog isn’t just about dog training tips. It’s about giving you the knowledge, tools, and community I wish I had when I started.
It’s about helping you strip it back, focus on the basics, and get your dog to a place of calm—so you can actually move forward with behaviour change. Because sometimes, the reason your training isn’t working isn’t that you’re doing it wrong—it’s that your dog is too stressed for it to work.
I know how isolating it can feel when every walk is a struggle, and progress seems out of reach. This blog is more than just advice—it’s a community. A place for learning, support, and most importantly—hope.
When Jasper came into my life over seven years ago, I had no idea what I was stepping into. He was reactive, anxious, and the truth is—I made a lot of mistakes. I tried to train the reactivity out of him before I understood what was really going on beneath the surface.
Looking back, I know I made things worse. I pushed when he needed rest. I trained when he needed calm.
I thought progress was about doing more, but it turned out—it was about doing less.
Our real progress came when I stopped focusing on fixing him and started focusing on understanding him.
Everything changed when I learned the power of reducing stress, improving sleep, and meeting his natural needs. These became the three pillars of everything I do—because when you lower stress, everything else starts to fall into place.
But this journey wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t fast. And most of it? I walked alone. That’s why I built PawsOfWisdom—so you don’t have to.
The Detox Protocol I share is at the heart of everything I teach. It focuses on the three key elements often overlooked when working with reactive, anxious, or challenging dogs.
Too often, we jump straight into training. But training a stressed, overstimulated dog is like trying to build a house on unstable ground.
First, we need to create calm. Once stress is reduced, everything else becomes easier—whether it’s reducing reactivity, improving focus, or building confidence.
I’ve seen this approach work time and time again—with Jasper and with the dogs I’ve supported. That’s why I’m passionate about sharing it with you.

While my experience with Jasper shaped me, I’ve also made it a priority to develop my knowledge through formal education and hands-on work with dogs:
Beyond my qualifications, I’ve spent several years walking and working with various dogs with different temperaments, but mainly reactive and anxious dogs. I’ve also supported owners through training guidance and one-to-one coaching.
My education is ongoing—I continue to learn through advanced courses, seminars, and studying the work of industry-leading trainers and behaviourists.
PawsOfWisdom is designed to be a hub of resources, support, and community. Whether you need help calming your dog’s reactivity, reducing their anxiety, or simply want to better understand their needs—you’ll find guidance here.
I also offer consultations for those seeking one-to-one support. We can work together to understand your dog’s challenges and create a practical plan that suits both you and your dog.
Together, we can transform your struggles into progress—one step at a time!
You’re not alone! Cheering You On Always!
